Seat & Comfort Seat Differences
How can you tell if you have a Sweet Seat or a Comfort Seat?
Sweet Seat

The Sweet Seat was offered on all ATs, RXs, and E2s between
1999 and 2002, on all CT's between 1999 and 2000, and on the NX between 1999 and
2000. The base that attaches to the frame is cromoly and is separate from
the seat platform. The seat can be adjusted fore and aft along the seat
frame, fore and aft along the bike frame, tilted up or down in front and rear or adjusted fore and aft in relation
to the seat back. The seat back can also be tilted back or forward a
little.
Comfort Seat

The Comfort Seat was offered on all CTs for 2001 and
2002. The base that attaches to the frame is molded plastic and is one
piece with the seat platform. Fore and aft adjustment along the bike frame
is available.
BikeE Sweet Seat
The BikeE Sweet Seat is now
available! For the past 12 months BikeE has been researching ways to build a
seat that would set a standard for all other seats to follow and the Sweet SeatTM
has accomplished this.
The Sweet Seat was designed in
response to many riders needs for an extended seat back and a softer cushion.
The Sweet Seat incorporates a seat back that is 6 inches taller than the
Original BikeE Seat and the cushion is 2 inches wider and softer. 1997 and 1998
models can be updated to the Sweet Seat Cushion for $50.00 or you can replace
your complete seat assembly for $249.99. The Sweet Seat incorporates the same
unique adjustments that the BikeE Original seat has. You can adjust the cushion
forward and aft on the seat frame and adjust the nose tilt. You can also adjust
the angle of the seatback to make it more erect or more laid-back.
The Sweet Seat is available now
on all BikeE models. The seat cushion or complete seat assembly can be purchased
through your local BikeE dealer. BikeE's 1998 and previous year pannier racks
will not work with the Sweet Seat. If you order a Sweet Seat - be sure to
purchase a Sweet Seat pannier rack.

Sweet Seat Upgrades
They have encountered two situations in which the seat slider attached to the
Sweet Seat fractured. One injury was incurred. If the seat slider were to
fracture while riding you could lose control of your BikeE which could cause
serious injury or death.
BikeE asks that you immediately stop riding and bring your BikeE with Sweet Seat
to your Authorized BikeE retailer or contact directly for a no-charge recall
service.
Resolving this problem is easy. If you have a BikeE with a Sweet Seat, contact
your local BikeE dealer or contact BikeE directly to receive a Seat Slider
Upgrade kit. If you contact your local BikeE dealer, they will install the parts
at no-charge.
Please visit your authorized BikeE retailer/service center or call 1-800-231-
3136 with any questions.

Seat Strut Problems
While the Sweet Seat Strut breakage issue was never an
official recall, I felt it was important to bring your attention to it.
Please examine your Sweet Seat struts often to look for cracks or signs of
failure. The struts are cromoly so you will have to find a specialist
welder that can weld cromoly to fix it.
Broken

Notice the crack in the right-side strut.
Fixed

The struts have been reinforced with welds on both sides.
